Sibling Preparation Classes

This class prepares children for the birth of a new family member. Information on pregnancy, birth, and life with a new baby is presented at a young child's learning level. Includes information about having a new baby in the family, about how babies behave, and the ways that family life is affected by new babies. Appropriate for ages 2-1/2  and older.

$20 for one child and parent(s). $5 for additional children from the same family.

Great Starts classroom in Eastlake: One hour long classes are taught by Penny Simkin. Focus is on the birth process, and the class includes photographs of a birth and illustrations depicting childbirth, as well as the sounds laboring moms may make and other information about labor. To register, click here, or call (206)789-0883.

Stevens Hospital in Edmonds: 90 minute long classes, discuss pregnancy, birth, and incorporating a new baby into the family. The class does not include details about the birth process, it does include a tour of the Stevens childbirth center.
