Grandparents' Class

Although babies are the same as they have always been, many things have changed over time in how women are cared for during labor and birth, and how parents are advised to care for their babies.

A grandparents' class will provide expectant grandparents with the updated information they need to be able to support their children. Classes cover how maternity care may differ from when your babies were born; current parenting advice regarding sleeping, crying, and soothing; breastfeeding, and current feeding recommendations; infant safety, and all the current advice and equipment, from safe sleep practices to car seats.

Great Starts is no longer offering a grandparents' class. But there are several others available in the area:

Group Health in Seattle. Class is open to anyone who is a Group Health member, or any parent of an expectant Group Health member. It is held 1st Thursday of each month, 4 pm, Group Health Capital Hill. To register, call (206)326-3500
