Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) |
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) |
Similarities:
Instructors:
Our main instructors and the observers for our practice teaching
sessions are all experienced childbirth educators, all of whom are
actively teaching in the Seattle area. Each program may also include
some guest speakers such as nurses, physical therapists, massage
therapists, dieticians, midwives, and lactation consultants.
Study Guides:
Each training offers an extensive study
guide which will help to guide your learning. They include: reading
assignments, worksheets, lists of questions which help you to
understand which information is essential for you to know, and
questions which encourage you to think about how you would teach the
material.
Certification
options: Most hospitals and childbirth education organizations require
that their educators complete a certification process before beginning
to teach. Certification typically includes: a training course,
observing other instructors, student teaching a series while being
evaluated by an experienced instructor, and a test or study guide to
demonstrate knowledge. Great Starts offers a certification program.
